Who we are:
- UVic Child Care Services pedagogy is based on the BC Early Learning Framework (BC Gov’t, 2019). We practice the Common Worlds Framework approach, which considers our ethical relations with human and more-than-human in the Anthropocene–reflecting on place and histories, the legacies of colonialism, reconciliation, and 21st century environmental inheritances. - We provide a comprehensive, free in-house professional development program. Program supervisors working alongside our Pedagogist and Program Manager who help guide inquiry work and research projects. We hold two full-day professional development days per year.
- UVic Child Care Services Early Childhood Educators are passionate leaders and advocates for the field, who uphold very high standards for practice and provide strong mentorship to students and new educators. UVic Child Care Services educators have published journal articles, held exhibits and presented at a number of conferences and workshops.
